MOBILITY SHOW 2006 - Session C
"Integrated transportation management: an international perspective"
Dr. Filippo Logi
Siemens Intelligent Traffic System, Munich, Germany
The development and deployment of sustainable solutions for advanced transportation management in large conurbations requires addressing several issues of different nature: in addition to meeting all technological requirements, complex organizational and administrative issues must be addressed, and delicate business generation and commercial issues must be dealt with. One of the key functions of a transportation management system (TMS) is the successful integration of different components into a seamless system.
By means of the experience gained by assessing several international TMS tenders and deploying several large transportation management projects, this presentation provides an overview of the most relevant issues, focusing on the requirements for integration, and shows how such issues were addressed for a successful deployment.
