Summary
To reach the objective of sustainable development public transport has high potentials.
Nevertheless we see specific weak aspects which decrease the success: door-to-door requirements not to be fulfilled, failing to meat special requirements on accessibility and relative too high costs to organize in low demand areas and periods.
Here Demand Responsive Services can have a crucial role to complete the public transport offer.
In this context the paper will highlight and comment the key issues to set up efficient and successfull flexible on-demand transport services. |
